Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt (ABK) Donates a Chemotherapy Unit to Shefaa Al-Orman Hospital in Upper Egypt

Cairo, 16th of January 2018 : Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait - Egypt (ABK–Egypt) started  its  2018 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program by donating funds  to build a Chemotherapy Unit at Shefaa Al-Orman Hospital.  Affiliated to Al-Orman Charity Association, Shefaa Al-Orman Hospital was recently inaugurated in Luxor, and is the biggest hospital In Upper Egypt offering free cancer treatment to the community. Amounting to EGP 450,000, this donation comes at the beginning of a new year that is set to include a number of CSR initiatives across diverse sectors including healthcare support for Egyptian nationals.   During 2017, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt (ABK) made financial contributions to  Abu El Reesh Japanese Hospital for Children, which is  the largest hospital and research centre specializing in the free treatment of burns in Egypt and the MENA region.  The contribution was made as part of the “Humanity Burn Free Initiative” led by the Ahl Masr Foundation. Mr. Khaled El Salawy, ABK-Egypt CEO and Managing Director, emphasized that the Bank’s  contribution comes in line with its strong belief in the importance of supporting the community and  consolidating  efforts that aim to develop and improve different sectors of the Egyptian society including the healthcare sector. Mr. El Salawy closed by saying  that ABK – Egypt’s 2018 Social Responsibility strategy will support various sectors across the country,  not limited to the health sector working closely with organizations and people, for a better and more prosperous Egypt.
