Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt launches an awareness campaign on financial inclusion in Beheira Governorate
Egypt, Cairo September, 2022: Under the auspices of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait - Egypt (ABK-Egypt) launched an awareness campaign during the month of September to celebrate "Egyptian Farmer’s Day" with the objective of raising awareness on financial inclusion and digital banking services in Beheira Governorate.
ABK-Egypt’s representatives were able to successfully engage with Egyptian farmers through an educational roadshow in the villages of “Kom Shrek, Abu al Khawi, Kafr Bulin” promoting financial literacy in rural areas and encouraging residents in these villages to open bank accounts.
In the same context, Bank representatives also paid a visit to Kom Hamada Agricultural Administration premise in Damanhur city aiming at enhancing financial literacy and banking awareness among farmers in the presence of Agricultural Syndication officials and residents of Beheira Governorate.
This initiative comes in line with ABK-Egypt’s continuous efforts to reach out to unbanked segments through a wide range of financial offerings with exclusive benefits, simplified procedures and waived fees. These offers include free of charge account opening during the campaign period with free accidental insurance policy issuance, free Debit Card issuance, and free Mobile Wallet registration.
It is also worth mentioning that ABK-Egypt has recently launched a set of financial inclusion accounts targeting different customer segments including “Bedaya” accounts for individuals and very small companies with simplified procedures, “Sohoula” account for individuals requiring only national ID. All accounts provide exclusive benefits and are opened with zero account opening fees, no minimum balance fees, free Debit card issuance and free access to Online and Mobile Banking services to best appeal to targeted segments and help them meet their financial needs.
ABK-Egypt remains keen to supporting the efforts of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and the Egyptian government in enhancing financial inclusion to provide unbanked segments with a full range of products and services as well as equal opportunities to join the banking sector.
